HCPs look out for others on Christmas Day

For the 2019 CREATION.co Christmas Card we looked back at the ‘Christmas’ conversations of healthcare professionals (HCPs) around the world on December 25th last year.

Here are a few of the festive highlights:

The most active Christmassy HCP: was Louise Kemp, a registered paediatric nurse, health visitor and paediatric continence advisor in Newcastle, UK. On Christmas day 2018 she posted 88 times!

The most popular Christmassy Tweet, by highest number of HCP retweets (95), was from Frank Dor, a Consultant Transplant Surgeon in London, UK. He posted “Just finished a proper #Christmas #kidney #transplant at @ImperialNHS in a patient who had been on #haemodialysis for 5 yrs. What a privilege! Thanks to a generous #donor and donor family! Merry Christmas to all!”

Excluding the word Christmas in all languages, the most used hashtag on Christmas day was #joinin, a campaign by comic Sarah Millican to help the lonely over Christmas.

Based on their conversations from last year we filtered the conversation to predict what doctors, nurses, pharmacists, surgeons and allied health professionals would be thinking and talking about this year.

Here is a word cloud of what they spoke about on Christmas day last year:

Doctors count their blessings and think of those less fortunate

Nurses encourage those working on Christmas day

Pharmacists discuss giving and receiving gifts

Surgeons celebrate a day for friends and family

Allied health professionals love having family time on Christmas day

Whether you’re having Christmas with friends, family, on your own or working, from the team at CREATION.co we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Methodology

  • On Christmas day 2018, nearly 18,000 HCPs globally posted more than 35,000 times about Christmas on Twitter.
