May’s insights from eHCPs mentioning the Top 50 Pharmaceutical Companies

The five pharmaceutical companies mentioned the most by eHCPs on X in May 2024 were Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson and GSK.

CREATION.co identified 10,911 eHCP mentions of pharmaceutical companies in May 2024, increasing by 34.6% over the previous month.

On 01 May, eHCPs shared the news of the release of the new “Cardiovascular Outcomes Assessment of the MitraClip Percutaneous Therapy” (COAPT) Risk Score – an app which is designed to calculate the risk of death/hospitalisation in patients with heart failure. eHCPs at Mount Sinai School of Medicine thanked Abbott for their support in developing the app.

On 10 May, eHCPs discussed the decision for AstraZeneca to withdraw its COVID-19 vaccine. Despite no longer being available, eHCPs such as Christina Pagel in this nine-part thread celebrated the vaccine for its efficacy, cost-effectiveness and saving lives globally.

On 22 May, eHCPs shared videos and articles from European news outlets reporting on a fire at Novo Nordisk’s headquarters in Copenhagen. Some eHCPs shared that this was the second fire that Novo Nordisk has faced within a week.

  • Data for this research was analysed from the online X conversations of eHCPs in all languages mentioning a Top 50 Pharmaceutical company between 01 – 31 May 2024.
  • Unless otherwise specified, mentions of a company are not limited to its X account(s).
  • In some cases, a post may mention more than one company account (e.g. @abbottnews and @abbottglobal) – this only counts as one Company Mention and Account Mention.
  • Johnson & Johnson was included as a whole, encompassing its pharmaceutical subsidiary, Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine (previously Janssen). In May 2024, 83 of these posts mentioned Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine or Janssen.
