August’s insights from eHCPs mentioning the Top 50 Pharmaceutical Companies
The five most mentioned pharmaceutical companies by eHCPs on X in August 2024 were Pfizer, Novavax, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca.
CREATION.co identified 7,859 eHCP mentions of pharmaceutical companies in August 2024, increasing by 2.12% over the previous month.
On 05 August, eHCPs shared the press release from Bayer discussing how the FINEARTS trial successfully met its primary endpoint of reducing negative cardiovascular events in patients. The press release was positively met by eHCPs who looked forward to the ESC Congress 2024 to see the full results. Cardiologist Dr. Enrique Santas called the information “Big news!!!”.

On 23 August, eHCPs began questioning the FDA on where the approval of the Novavax COVID-19 vaccine was. Posts began circulating online mentioning the effectiveness of the Novavax vaccine, but wondered when it would be approved for use.
WHY @US_FDA are you sleeping on @Novavax?
It's the most effective vaccine for preventing long term damage from this virus. It targets more recent variants than alternatives that were just approved, AND it's been ready and waiting for months.

A week later, on 30 August, the FDA granted approval for the Novavax COVID-19 vaccine. The news was received well by eHCPs calling it “better late than never”.

- Unless otherwise specified, mentions of a company are not limited to its X account(s).
- In some cases, a post may mention more than one company account (e.g. @abbottnews and @abbottglobal) – this only counts as one Company Mention and Account Mention.
- Johnson & Johnson was included as a whole, encompassing its pharmaceutical subsidiary, Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine (previously Janssen). In August 2024, 50 of these posts mentioned Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine or Janssen.
