The latest insights from HCPs mentioning the Top 50 Pharmaceutical Companies

The five pharmaceutical companies that were mentioned the most by healthcare professionals (HCPs) on Twitter in November 2022 were Pfizer, Lilly, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca. Notably, Lilly rose from the 14th most mentioned pharmaceutical company online in October 2022 to 2nd in November.

CREATION.co identified 14,537 HCP mentions of pharmaceutical companies online in November 2022, a 22% decrease from the previous month.

The primary factor of Lilly’s rise in ranking of most mentioned pharmaceutical companies in November 2022 was discussions around the cost of insulin, with HCPs expressing frustration and anger at the increase of the price of insulin since its discovery, with 387 HCPs sharing a tweet by Bernie Sanders expressing that sentiment.

218 HCPs also shared a tweet highlighting the financial consequences of a Twitter Blue post in which Eli Lilly’s official account was impersonated:

The top shared links by HCPs discussed:

  1. An article from Stat news about the new bivalent COVID-19 vaccine and its efficacy in protecting against new Omicron variants.
  2. A press release by Pfizer announcing phase 3 trial data for their bivalent RSV vaccine.
  3. An article by the Washington Post about the fake tweet imitating Eli Lilly.

HCPs also shared their excitement about the efficacy of Pfizer’s new bivalent RSV vaccine, with 82 HCPs sharing the following tweet:

Additionally, Gilead Sciences had a high number of account mentions, with 74 mentions of their official Twitter account. This was primarily due to work with the Gilead scholarships:

CREATION.co continues to analyse online HCP conversation on a variety of topics including virtual congress, healthcare changes since the pandemic, product development and therapy area specific insights.
