The latest insights from HCPs mentioning the Top 50 Pharmaceutical Companies
The five pharmaceutical companies that were mentioned the most by healthcare professionals (HCPs) on Twitter in November 2022 were Pfizer, Lilly, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca. Notably, Lilly rose from the 14th most mentioned pharmaceutical company online in October 2022 to 2nd in November.
CREATION.co identified 14,537 HCP mentions of pharmaceutical companies online in November 2022, a 22% decrease from the previous month.
The primary factor of Lilly’s rise in ranking of most mentioned pharmaceutical companies in November 2022 was discussions around the cost of insulin, with HCPs expressing frustration and anger at the increase of the price of insulin since its discovery, with 387 HCPs sharing a tweet by Bernie Sanders expressing that sentiment.
Let's be clear. Eli Lilly should apologize for increasing the price of insulin by over 1,200% since 1996 to $275 while it costs less than $10 to manufacture. The inventors of insulin sold their patents in 1923 for $1 to save lives, not to make Eli Lilly's CEO obscenely rich. https://t.co/5ZpZkqY0f9

218 HCPs also shared a tweet highlighting the financial consequences of a Twitter Blue post in which Eli Lilly’s official account was impersonated:
Huge news for the babies!
Pfizer’s bivalent RSV vaccine has demonstrated amazing efficacy (81.8% against severe lower respiratory illness). This was well tolerated and with results meeting criteria, Pfizer has stopped enrollment and will plan to submit by end of 2022! pic.twitter.com/dObCKEjBJT

Additionally, Gilead Sciences had a high number of account mentions, with 74 mentions of their official Twitter account. This was primarily due to work with the Gilead scholarships:
Es un honor compartido con la Dra. @AnaisCorma, co-IP del proyecto, y con el resto del Grupo @EVirologia Muchas gracias a @GileadSciences por su apoyo a la investigación biomédica en España. https://t.co/OKc2naaRhd
